Pandora's Puzzle Box

Privacy

No accounts, no ads and no tracking across other apps or websites. Your progress stays on your device. The game sends anonymous play stats so the puzzles can be improved, and you can turn them off.

What stays on your device

Your progress, tokens, settings and the puzzles you've bought are kept only on your iPhone, or in your browser for the web game. They're never sent to us. Deleting the app (or clearing the browser's site data) deletes them.

The anonymous play stats

Unless you turn them off, the game sends us a note when you:

  • open the game;
  • start, solve, restart or leave a puzzle (which puzzle, the time on its timer and the moves made);
  • use a hint;
  • unlock a puzzle, an area or an expansion pack with tokens, or buy tokens;
  • reset your progress.

Each note also carries a random code the game makes the first time it runs, the app's build and whether it's the iPhone app or the web game. That code isn't linked to your name, your Apple ID, your device's advertising identifier or anything else about you. We don't keep your IP address or your location.

We use the stats only to see which puzzles are too hard or too easy and how the game's prices work out. We don't sell them, share them, or use them for advertising.

Turning the stats off

Open Options (the gear) and untick Share anonymous play stats. The game then stops sending them, forgets its random code and drops anything not yet sent. If you turn them back on, it makes a new code, so later stats can't be linked to earlier ones.

Where the stats are kept, and for how long

They're stored with Cloudflare, which runs the website the game downloads its puzzles from (puzzlebox.solutionrooms.uk). Stats are deleted automatically after two years.

Purchases

In-app purchases are handled by Apple. We never see your payment details: only that a purchase was made, so the game can add the tokens.
